Today Ivy is at the zoo on a school field trip. She has been gone an hour and I already miss her. I wish I would of went. But- I have a lot of stuff to get done here. I guess I need to get used to her being at school all day. After the summer that's the way it will be. I can't wait to spend the summer with her though. I don't know why I'm like this. A lot of people are ecstatic when their kids are in school all day. I guess part of it is she is all I have right now. She is my it'll girlfirend. We have a blast together. Until Addy gets here it will be pretty quiet around here the beginning of next year. Then I'm in for a big change. I'm up for it!It looks as if people are receiving referrals today. CCAA did a whole whoppin week this time. This has really got to pick up. Iknow a whole lot of people who may go crazy if it doesn't! Next batch of referrals should really tell a lot. If they do a whole month it will put the wait for referral at one year. So- we'll see. Quick reminder- 1 year for us will be March 22, 2007. Gosh- I hope we go before then, but at at least by then. It really sucks having no control over any of this!

“An invisible red thread connects those destined to meet, regardless of time, place, or circumstance. The thread may stretch or tangle, but it will never break.” - Chinese Proverb

This is sonething I wanted to share with my family and friends who are not familar with it. I love it.

Time for an update! Not much going on with waiting for Addy. Were just waiting. I hope everyone had a great Mothers Day. It was nice. I had my family over for brunch in the morning. Took my lil sis to buy a prom dress, and got my nails done in the afternoon. I really hope next year we have Addy here with us. We should, but the process is so long, and somewhat unpredictable. So all I can do is hold on to hope right now.I went and bought my secret pal gift today. That is so much fun. I really enjoy doing it. Ivy only has a couple of weeks left of school. I can't wait for her to be done for the year. Last night was out last PTA meeting of the year, we went for drinks afterwards, it was fun. I really like all the people I have met this year at school,I'm happy doing the mom thing. Make fun of me all you want! It's ok. I don't mind.I've met some great people, and have a lot of connections. Someone said last night that it really takes a whole neighborhood to raise a child. I agree w/ that statement. Our children will not be perfect, and will make mistakes.But- with enough people around to guide, correct, be role models, and most of all to care, they will grow being the best they can be.Parenting really is a tough job. Ivy is at an easy age, but the fun is yet to come! I hope I do a good job with her. I'll try my best. Lucky for Addy I'll be experienced by the time she gets here. She won't be able to get away with anything! Rumors should start flying about referrals soon. I'll keep everyone posted!

It's official! We have a name! We will name our little girl that is waiting for us in China, Adaleigh. We will call her Addy. I'm really excited about it. It helps the process seem more "real" to me. In case any of you remember it an old post I said I think we may have a name. Well- that is the name we were thinking. But- Andy wasn't ready to commit it to it. On Fri. He said yes. He also asked why I needed it so bad? was I going to run out and get a bunch of stuff w/ her name engraved on it? Well- I just might!!! Her middle name will probably be part of her Chinese name, so we won't have that for awhile!

I'm addicted to these stupid things. You should play. Just click on the link.

You Are 28 Years Old

Under 12: You are a kid at heart. You still have an optimistic life view - and you look at the world with awe.

13-19: You are a teenager at heart. You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world.

20-29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.

30-39: You are a thirtysomething at heart. You've had a taste of success and true love, but you want more!

40+: You are a mature adult. You've been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax.

You Are Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

Creative. Expressive. Unique.

I thought I'd do a blog update. It's hard to keep up w/ because everything seems so unreal. I don't want this to be a negative thing. There is some exciting news. Referrals came out last week. They covered May 31-June 6. Not a lot of days, but more than last month. I love looking at the referral pictures, those babies are so adorable. I f anyone wants to see some of them let me know and I will give you a link. I also got my secret pal gift on Friday. I was so excited. It's things like that, that make the whole process seem more"real". The theme for April was travel. We received a lot of stuff. An outfit for baby, suckers for Ivy,infant Tylenol, wipes, q-tips, Ora-gel,Kleenex, and a carrying case w/nail clippers, a thermometer, aspirator and dosing spoon. It's all so appreciated. Thanks secret pal!
Things have been pretty busy around here as usual. On Friday Kelly and I went to see Tim and Faith. It was a great concert. And- all you women who walk around in uncomfortable shoes. Faith had on cute gym shoes, and was adorable. If Faith Hill can walk on stage in front of thousands of people in gym shoes, and perform. So can the rest of us. There is no reason we should have to suffer for fashion! She still looked really cute! That was my lesson for the night. By the way- I made Kelly drive, so we wouldn't have to worry about another guard rail incident, like when we went to see Keith! HA HA !!
On Sat. Was Emmas baptism. I am her godmother! It is such an honor. It went well, she didn't cry at all. She was a happy little girl! Yesterday was a Bunco night. I didn't win anything. I took my sister Traci and she won $100 though. Debbie made out pretty well. Lindsey was the biggest loser, so she won $50. Not bad for being the biggest loser! This week I have to do things for daisy's, we are quickly coming to the end of the school year. We have to work on our bridging ceremony, finish our petals. We are taking a field trip to the fire station in a couple of weeks. We have fun together. I can't believe Ivy will be in first grade next year! It makes me sad, because she is growing up so fast. I'm proud of her though she is such a great girl. I need to get my baby home so I'm not bored when Ivy is in school all day! I probably won't be bored, but I'll miss our time together.
